Flock
Fed up as I am with Firefox crashing full time, tonight I decided to give Flock another possibility. I briefly tried using it a while back, but it was too immature and quickly gave up. But now it definitely looks like a strong contender; in particular if, like me, you are a heavy user of del.icio.us as well as Flickr. While it’s still in its infancy, and lacks some polishing (the del.icio.us support is well-integrated, but minimal; definitely below what the Firefox extension offers), it is quite useful to have these functions as an integral part of the browser.
Additionally, Flock has some support for blogging; this post is actually more a test of the posting interface than anything. Too bad there is no support for categories and tagging; I guess that if I adopt it as my main interface I’ll need to start using Technorati tags as I’ve been planning to do for a while now. Or maybe I’ll just continue using Typo’s web interface, which isn’t really WYSIWYG, but more than compensates for that by supporting Textile. Well, what do I know—it does support categories after all! It actually has some issue, but I expect that is just one of the bugs in Typo 2.6.0, which will be hopefully solved as soon as I finish my transition to head Typo.

I’m a big fan of Flock and use it every-now-and-then but I find the lack of extensions support a put off. I have quite a few important extensions I use in my work for development, etc and Flock doesn’t yet have compatible versions. Its a shame as it wouldn’t take much for the authors to make them compatible.
